PRESS RELEASE: Absentee Voting Information August 2, 2022 Primary Election

NEWS RELEASE:  June 15, 2022

The following information is being made available by Carroll County Clerk; Norma L. Sparks regarding the Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

Absentee voting is now available for the Primary Election to be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  Carroll County voters may obtain their ballot in person in the County Clerk’s office or request an absentee ballot by mail.  Requests for ballots by telephone are not allowed in Missouri election law. Requests must be in writing, and include a signature of the voter or their guardian or relative within the second degree by consanguinity (related by blood or descended from a common ancestor) or affinity (by marriage or adoption, not blood relationship.

Party Primaries are held to nominate candidates to the General Election in November therefore, you must choose a party ballot. When requesting a ballot, you must indicate party preference of Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Constitution, or non-partisan. There is no non-partisan party ballot in this election.

The last day to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election is Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

The last day to request absentee ballot by mail or through parent or guardian is Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. 

The County Clerk’s office will have extended office hours on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for walk in absentee voting.

The last day to absentee vote in person is Monday, August 1st 2022 by 5:00 p.m.

Sample ballots of the Primary Election are available in the County Clerk’s office.

The required public test of the accuracy and logistics of the hardware and software being used for the Primary Election will be held in the counting room of the Clerk’s office on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.

Absentee forms are available on the County’s website at www.carrollcomo.org or the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.mo.gov.
